CREATE A SENSE OF GUILT
Make sure that members who do not conform to the group’s wishes feel really bad. Punish them psychologically, punish them physically- anything and everything that will do the trick.
Yes, I believe that guilt was a very big driver in my years as a Rosicrucian.
AN OPEN LETTER TO CHRISTIAN BERNARD,
VENERATED IMPERATOR OF AMORC-The Cult of H. Spencer lewis
For one thing, you are dealing with an organization that claims to be the one true proponent of God’s plan on Earth. For another, you are constantly being told about how responsible Rosicrucians are for the fate of the world.
In AMORC Unmasked, I talk about the worst guilt that I experienced, my lack of success in being able to manifest the simple things that I desired.
For twenty-four years, having been caught in the trap of AMORC’s worldview, I consistently castigated myself for failing to meet some unknown criteria for making this magic formula of manifestation work. What I generally wished for was for my green card, being able to go back to school, a decent way of supporting myself and it just did not happen until I began the slow and painful process of divorcing myself from set of Assumptions that Rosicrucian members live with.
Naturally, if you are a committed believer in Manifestation, you will tend to blame yourself- not the organization you belong to, if you think they truly have the keys to unlock your life.
When you have been convinced that you have failed the noble mission that the organization has set forth before you- by simply following their protocol- you continually look within yourself for the reason for that failure.
I think that looking within to your own failings can be a very good thing. But not, maybe when you belong to a religious cult whose protocol for manifesting desires is, in itself, out of synch with the universe and whatever genuine protocol resides within it.
Right now, with so many of my relatives trapped in Haiti, I would be able to be so much more of a blessing to them if I had been able to start my career earlier. I am, of course, determined to do my best with what I have- and I am much better off than when I was a Prisoner of San Jose.
Before I met up with AMORC in Haiti, I was well off to a good career in engineering and had very good contacts with people in business and government in Haiti. I undermined myself by embarking on a shortcut to prosperity when now I believe not only did I have practical backing of people and institutions, but I believe I owed a lot of my early good fortune to a simple belief and relationship with God that was undermined by the exotic promises of AMORC.
