I can't say whether the author's experience is typical or not. I'm sure that susceptibility counts, and his marginalization economically and culturally clearly contributed to his susceptibility. However, in my very short experience of AMORC, I found that the information was very light- weight esoterically, as well as oriented to self-aggrandizement. Also, when I publicly questioned the quality of the material I was encountering, I was subject to an instant, cult-like exclusion.
